Do you have a messy spouse? how do you cope with it?

He is not too too bad, but he just drops things, that are supposed to be going in the garbage, or he would pick up something, and decide that he didn't need it and just put it down anywhere, not where it belongs. He would break things, rip things, step on things... He takes good care of himself, but when I lived alone, I took care of my things. Now I cannot keep up, because I cannot afford, and don't have the time. When I lived alone everything was so nice and neat, now I feel like I live in a hurricane. He told me that I am uptight. Am I uptight, because I like my things clean and neat and in working condition? I have loosened a lot, especially becasuse I cannot keep up, but how do you deal with it? When you are used to a neat, tidy environment. His dad is so refined and cly, why can't he be like that!
