Should they let susan atkins the murderer out of prison, so she can die in her house?

Atkins has been hospitalized since March. She is bed-ridden with terminal brain cancer, has had one leg amputated and is paralyzed on one side of her body. It's unlikely she would be transferred to anyone's home. She will spend her last days in a hospital or hospice. So I say, yes, they should give her this "compionate release" but for one reason only: it will basically be an "on paper" release and the family member who takes her will also have to ume responsibility for her remaining medical bills. Otherwise the state has to continue absorbing the cost for her. It's doubtful that Atkins was the one who actually stabbed Sharon. During the penalty phase of the trial Manson ordered the three women to take the stand and take the full blame for everything and they did. A few years later Tex Watson admitted that it was he, and not Atkins, that stabbed Sharon. Apparently Atkins also ped a polygraph in 1981 when asked if she had stabbed Sharon. Nonetheless, whether or not she actually stabbed anyone, she was still a willing participant and co-conspirator and just as guilty of the murders.
