Why is there sooooooo much racism, discrimination, partiality and prejudice in the gay community?

I think I already know the answer this but I would like to get other people's opinion...this was discussed on the tyra banks show...BUT I DONT THINK THIS TOPIC GOT THE LENGTH OF TIME IT DESERVED! as a gay man living in new york city (and I've lived in the caribbean and canada before) I'm 20 years old and I dont think I've ever expierenced so much racisim in one place. I'm biracial, mixed with black and indain some white, I've got a complextion like janet jackson's. I'm a minority in this country and I know that. I'm a minority in more ways that one! race...belifes and uality! contrary to what most people might believe I've never ever felt discriminated by some one of a caucasian ethnic background. the prejudice I usually expierence comes from lantino and pale skinned black people. and no I wasn't trying to get a date! I was just introducing my self, trying to make friends and I got very odd stares, people walking away, and even the statments "sorry I dont date any one of a darker skin tone than me." now I love my brown skin tone and I wouldn't trade it for any thing. this whole mentality deserves a study and is very intresting yet very sad at the same time. As gay people shouldn't we be unified? how do we expect the government to take us seriously and give the "gay community" "gay rights" WHEN WE'RE NOT EVEN A COMMUNITY!!!! WE'RE NOT UNIFIED!!! i mean are people aware there are sooo many gay people who donated millions to support proposition 8 to spite their fellow gays because of the endless discrimnatory sufferings they endured within the gay community? as far as I'm concerned racisim is not getting any better but worse. I cant belive we're heading into 2010. this feels like the 50's. Physical appearance is not most important thing but I'm good looking....great ripped body a good person.....polite...sensible..intellegen… a georgeous skin tone that people chose to see as a bad thing...hmmmm I've seen other guys start conversations with guys I tried to start conversations with and succed because they one skin tone lighter than me. wow....this is world we live in.
