Which processor is better for gaming,a core 2 duo or core 2 quad?

i need to buy a new processor for gaming,i have to decide between core 2 duo and core 2 quad.suppose both have 1333 fsb and around 2.8 ghz clock speed,then which one will be better for gaming?one more question,can a 1066 fsb core 2 quad be compared to a 1333 fsb core 2 duo for having 2 more cores?gaming is my priority
