I am writing a paper on religion and the public educational system. Help with sources?

The sources I'm having a difficulty finding need to cover early public education and its curriculum, prayer being restricted, colonial america and the separation of church and state, controversy over the pledge, and anything about creationism/evolution in schools. Thanks for reading!
