Am I wasting my time with this guy?

So I've been chatting with this guy for awhile through text and Facebook, I know him from highschool we didn't really know eachother on highschool but he was fiends with some of my friends so since highschool I've randomly ran into him @ the bar . Anyways he finally asked me to hangout this weekend I was pretty stoked buut he didn't follow through he didn't text me all weekend to arrange something :s im just confused! He went on a date with my friend a month ago and they made out at the bar too but she's not interested in him at all she didnt no me and him had been talking for awhile. Maybe he's just a player?? I don't know. I feel it's useless to keep talking to him of it's not going to go anywhere. Should I be patient and wait or move on and don't waste my time?
