Best way to fill in two holes in ceiling?

I have two new light fittings ,which will replace existing ones that are recessed into the ceiling.Hence I think I need to fill in the two holes (unless I come up with something different).The holes would be about 4 inch diameter.Is it easy to get some plasterboard and patch these in ?
