Do Mormons have bad memories?

I have read on this site that the reason Mormons wear sacred undergarments is as a reminder of their covenant(s) with God. Why do they need a reminder? Are their memories really that bad? I have made covenants with God and I don't need clothing or any other article to keep me from forgetting to what I have dedicated myself.
