Can you help me with some ideas I can use for a speech contest?

I'm going to enter a speech contest. I chose prose (story); however, I want to write it by myself. I really don't want to use someone else's works. It is going to be a non-fiction. I need some ideas for an original, very descriptive, 2 1/2 minute story. I thought about writing the feeling when I fire a pistol, or when about a chorus of finches. Something very, very unique and descriptive. Help please!
